Executive Secretary meets UN Secretary-General in New York

The Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), Wolfgang Hoffmann, met with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, in New York. The Secretary-General and the Executive Secretary discussed the continuation of the excellent cooperation between the Untied Nations and the CTBTO Preparatory Commission and issues related to nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament. Both underlined the importance of the ongoing NPT Review Conference and the need for strengthening international instruments in the field of nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament. Mr. Hoffmann participated in the seventh Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons in New York.
