Facility Agreement concluded with Oman
An International Monitoring System (IMS) facility agreement was concluded with the Government of the Sultanate of Oman on 19 May 2004. The Agreement will regulate the conduct of activities in respect of the auxiliary seismic station hosted by Oman, AS74 at Wadi Sarin.
To date, the Commission has concluded 29 facility agreements or arrangements with States hosting monitoring facilities under the CTBT. These agreements or arrangements are foreseen in the Treaty and provide the legal framework for activities relating to IMS facilities, including the conducting of site surveys, installation or upgrading work, the certification of the facilities and their provisional operation and maintenance.
